Riverside Bathroom
Project type
Full Refurbishment
Date
June 2021
Location
Bristol
This lovely client had decided to invest in her home rather than use that money whilst moving (almost always into a fixer upper) and this room had needed a full refurb since she moved in 2 years prior. It was dark, dank and managed to have zero storage even though everything was boxed in.
She was really open to change - after looking at how she used the small room we decided to move the shower to the opposite wall and swapped the toilet and sink around.
This allows you a clear sightline as you enter the room, with some decorative (and useful!) shelves and sexy towels. As you pivot, you've a wall mounted mirror to the right of the sink...
- My design crime (a la the great indoors podcast) is a mirror over the toilet. Just, No. big no. -
...and a wall light for softness when you want a relaxing bath. This clients flat looks out onto a gorgeous river and trees from the other side of the flat, so we brought this green through in the vanity and towels as this room in fact looked out onto a carpark.
You'll also notice that the tiles dont reach the full height of the room... they don't need too. This allows a delightful and cost effective paint detailing that aligns and wraps around the room. Less tile expense and a free detail - WIN WIN.
We've still to add a ceiling hung ladder to rest over the bath however we are waiting for the perfect piece - the last 5% always takes blinkin ages.
Full breakdown and spec in a blog & post soon.
