I’m one of those maddening people who has always known what she wanted to do as a ‘grown up’. Lego was my go-to. Never really interested in the readymade sets as such, but creating intricate house layouts, and always with the low level disappointment in Lego that I only had four colours to choose from.
I’d use a house stencil set and create layout after layout, refining my ‘dream’ house. However, as I grew, so did the shape and style of the houses and I never really settled on a final master-mistress?- piece.
Through school, art foundation, university and the residential, workplace and hotel design work I’ve been involved with since, I have continued to adapt and explore not only what my mistresspiece (I’m going for it) would be, but also my clients.
The ‘Redesign’ branch of Rae Wolf focuses on how you use the space day to day, as well as how it looks.
Your home is so much more than the final picture, Pinterest is absolutely perfect for Inspiration but adapting a style or focal point to your own house isn’t always easy. There are so many variables of each piece that need to balance together near perfectly and also needs to function. For example, in my lounge I have a row of four tall bookcases; in an ideal world they would be sparingly filled with book sets and bricks-a-brac from my life however I have a trillion books and two kids who love arts and crafts that I want to be readily accessible for them - and that has to be included.
Depending on your knowledge, budget, and hearts dream - Rae Wolf can help you truly maximise what you already have and what would be the best addition to achieve your dream in an honest and beautiful way.
