Never mind that Goldilocks was an actual thief, she did have a good idea about what suits her best. Look at this image, what has the designer balanced proportionally here?
- the kitchen must be massive, otherwise you wouldnt skimp on counter top width. It's also right aligned (as in not centred to the gap), allowing breathing space around the counter. - the kitchen itself is CRISP AF, so they've gone for a natural rough edge finish to the breakfast bar countertop. - the've gone for an oldie worldie map to marry with the rustic oak, and just narrower than the full width of the table top. - the black of the stool base marries up with the cupboard door knobs. - the purple flowers, cranberry rug and blush windowcill really warms up the room in contrast to the grey doors and blue floor tile. - the rattan bag and stool seat shape adds soft curves to this space. - the cloth and rattan material add texture. How many of these elements would have occured to you? This is why designers are worth their weight in gold. We flick through so many thoughts and ideas in order to come up with the PERFECT solution and end goal, because we have an intrinsic knowledge and gut instict of how to work with any space.
